I just participated in a book exchange (Feb 2006 room on the RQ site). We each had a partner and exchanged books. I send “If you give a mouse a cookie” which is Ava’s favorite book and a lady bug puppet book. My partner, Diane from Maine, sent me a little lady bug book and “Stellaluna”. I had never read Stellaluna before and I love it! What a sweet story. It is about a baby bat that is separated from its mother and lands in a birds nest. The mother bird takes care of Stellaluna but she never quite fits in with the birds as hard as she tries. Eventually she is reunited with her mother and at the end of the story she meets up with her bird friends and they talk about how it is good to be friends even though they are all different. It is super sweet!
So when is the next batch of referrals coming??
That is the big question… I think next week. My guess is that CCAA will send out referrals before the Olympic games. Those start on 8-8-08 we should be hearing something next week. I really hope that the referrals make it in to February, if they could make it to the 6th or 7th we would be looking good for September (long shot), or October (more likely). So keep your fingers crossed. The further they get into February the better it will be for us.
