Updated from our agency

I emailed our agency this morning and asked about when they thought we might get our referral and travel. Of course we are hoping that we will be home before Jan 1st for tax reasons. This is what I heard back:
"In the year 2006, the Chinese New Year started January 29, 2006 and we believe there are no LIDs between January 28-February 5, 2006. We are still hopeful you may see a match in October. However, if you receive your match in November, we believe you would be home by January 1, 2009. Typically, travel is 5-8 weeks after match. This is determined by when your travel approval comes from the CCAA after your acceptance letter is mailed to China. Once your travel approval arrives (which can take between 2-5 weeks after match), the travel department can then request your consulate appointment."

So I am feeling a little more encouraged. I guess October isn't out of the question. Everyone... fingers crossed!
