Another fun day in Xi'an

Pit 1, with the most soliders. I can't remember all the numbers, but I am sure you can google to get ALL the details.
Here we are next to the warriors. Daddy is holding Miss Scarlett and loving it!

Out side one of the buildings, Wendy our guide is speaking to Andrew and Barry and Cali (Ping Ping) are hanging out. She is such a honey and isn't her hat great!!
Eating some fingers yummm...
Snoozing on the way to the terra cotta soliders. I can't wait till we get back in the states and there are car seats. With the crazy drivers here, I am scared to death everything we get in the car with her.

Today we adventured out to see the terra cotta soliders. Initally I was thinking of skipping it so we could make sure Scarlett had her nap and everything, but Janie and Andy talked me into going and I was glad I did. They were really impressive. Thinking about the man power to create them and unearth them and putting them back together is kind of mind blowing. We tried to put Scarlett in the baby carrier, but she wasn't interested. We really need a forward facing one. She likes to look out front and see what is going on. (So Auntie Chris, if you are reading this, see if you have one in your store and hold it for us please.)
On our way out of the soliders we talked with Ava for a while. We were sorry to hear she has a bit of a cold and had to come home early from school. We did pass on the loves she sent to Scarlett and Janie and are sending a bunch more loves back to her!! And hoping she feels much better. She is counting the days till we get to come home and we are too!!
This afternoon we just hung out and it was nice. Scarlett walked (with assistance) and crawled all over our rooms. It has been such a blessing that we have an adjoining room with Janie here. It makes it so much easier and we all just have more space. Plus she is doing a great job with her 'grandma' duties here. We decided that we want Scarlett to call her grandma, so she has 2 grandmas. She is thrilled that we wanted to have Scarlett call her that and we are too.
Tomorrow will be my first solo day with Scarlett. Andrew and Janie are taking the train to AnKang with Micheal and Wendy to visit the orphanage. Not many folks get this opportunity so we are very excited but I know that it will be bitter sweet. We want to take photos for Scarlett and learn as much as we can, but seeing the babies there will be a real heart-breaker. I am glad Janie is going with Andrew so he has someone for support. They leave our hotel at 5:15 and won't be back until 9:00 so it will be a VERY long day. We are sending some supplies that we don't need (I over packed a little) and donating some money to the them too. It seems like a small token for taking such good care of our girl for her first year. She was obviously well loved and cared for and we are so greatful to them for that! BTW-Joanne... I am donating all the Mam bottles I bought. Scarlett HATES them (you were right of course!) They gave us her bottle and then we purchased some more over here.
Andrew just put Scarlett down for the night solo!! It sounds like it went good from over here, but I am going to check on them, so I'll close for now. We really miss you guys and are looking forward to coming home soon.
Love ya,
Maryanne
