Our first night together

Been home for 2 weeks last Friday. 

Okay is it just me or has my girl been growing a little bit?? She has been eating, eating, eating. She likes big people food better than most baby food. She still adores carrots and bananas, and ate some refried beans with Andrew the other day. Yes they are the musical fruit! 

She is still a restless sleeper though! We had that one night (sigh longingly...) that she slept through the night, now she is back to her normal up once or twice a night. It isn't bad, after all I get to snuggle with her and rock her back to sleep, but on the weekends Daddy takes over in the AM and I can't catch a few ZZZs without listening for her on the baby monitor. 

I just can't believe how much fun she is. She amazes me every single day. I never laughed as much as I do now. It seems like she has been part of our family forever, and when I think wow, we have been together for a month today, in my mind it should be a year. The matchers in China really are magical because Scarlett is perfect for our family. 

On another note, I LOVE being a mommy. I have helped my sister raise Ava, (Ava even says I am a co-owner :-) My sister has always let me share everything with her and Ava, so I have rocked her and held her and changed her and played with her, watched her grown from a tiny baby to the 'big' 5 year old girl she is today. But it is not the same as holding your own baby and rocking her to sleep. Being a mommy is just different than being an Auntie. I am telling you there is nothing better than this! And now I am part of the 'mommy club'. I can't even begin to explain how happy she makes me. Life was good before her, we had fun, we were busy, but now... every day is so much fun. I look forward to her smiles and giggles and all the funny things she does. I have to go back to work after the first of the year and it is going to be so hard! I could spend all day, every day with her.
