Another thing done

Found out yesterday that we were 'cabled'. Meaning that our paperwork has been transfered from NVC (national visa center USA) to the US consulate in Guangzhou. Our agency rep will be delivering the balance of our paperwork on Monday then it'll be about 2 weeks until they issue an Article 5 for us.

Everyone keeps asking when we'll travel so I'll just say... I still don't know. There is a national holiday in China October 4-8, so no business will be conducted then. That may impact when we get to go.

What's next... we'll after the consulate issues the Article 5, our agency rep will deliver it to CCAA in China. Then they will issue our TA (travel approval). That can take anywhere from 2 weeks to a month. Once our TA is issued then our agency can make a consulate appt for us. Once the consulate appt is confirmed, then we can book our travel. So basically we're still 3 important steps away from buying plane tickets.
