1 year later...

One year ago we met Mr. Liam Xiao Bao. It feels like he has been part of our family forever but it's just been a year. I remember Scarlett saying, "Hello Mister Mister" and then she gave him some fruit puffs to, "make friends". This has been a year of dramatic changes for Liam. Moving to the US, getting his Baha (hearing aid) and having a family and sister to love him. He still has those 2 year old moments, but overall he is adjusting so well and we're lucky to have in as part of our family!

Ru Ru Reunion

We hosted the 2nd annual Ru Ru reunion this year at the beautiful Oregon coast. All three families had a wonderful time. We were lucky enough to get a really wonderful and talented young photographer, Kelly Searle to come down and take some shots. I think you'll find her style totally wonderful and lovely. They remind me of photos taken in the past before eveything was about how many megapixels. Her shots are genuine and heart felt and really take me back to the cool summer morning with the herd of children running about.

Love Without Boundaries

I think I've mentioned before that I volunteer for a group called Love Without Boundaries (LWB), they are a non-profit group focused on helping orphans in China. They do a lot of good and have lots of programs, education, nutrition, medical. I volunteer in the medical area. Anyway, they are kicking off their big auction today. Please consider supporting them. We went to see Rachel Coleman today from Signing Times, and it was totally wonderful. Scarlett got to meet her and get her autograph before the show started and then she was called up on stage to represent the color red in the rainbow song. Scarlett was so brave and wonderful! We had a fabulous time. Rachel is awesome.

Liam has grown over 3 inches since we got him and Scarlett has grown over 3 inches in the last year. They both grew a bunch last month. Liam an inch and a half since January 27 and Scarlett about a 1/4 of an inch. Wow!! That Annie's Mac and Cheese is good stuff.

Fabulous Daddy and the beans

Tuesday I took the kids down to Stayton to visit Andy . Scarlett asked me on the way down if we would see beans, the beans that Dadda counts??
So I mentioned at lunch that Scarlett really wanted to see the beans, and would he be able to show her? When we got back to his office, he brought out the jelly beans! Scarlett was thrilled to count the beans with Dadda and then she asked if that was the only kind of beans he counted? He said he counts all kinds, and then she said, "even green beans?". He replied, "totally!".
So we had a great visit and Daddy was super cool with his beans. They even got to eat a few jelly beans... every exciting!!

We had such a great day today! We went to Safari Sam's (a local indoor playland) and played in the jungle then had a glorious lunch of hot dog/chicken nuggets/corn dog.

Then the Broxtermans, Joanne and Ava, Janie and Ron were here for dinner and cupcakes.

It was low key but fun!
